Developer Diaries – From The Trenches!

January has been so busy, it clearly set the pace and gave us a taste of what’s coming for 2018. Needless to say, we are ready for it!
It already seemed like sleeping had become a luxury when a major issue with masternode payments decided to show up! The issue required immediate attention and we redirected 100% of our efforts to fix it and run a battery of tests while anticipating all hard fork scenarios (if you have not yet updated your wallet please do so now).
Yet, despite the front line excitement, a lot has also happened in the trenches. So, here is a quick rundown of the artillery that we are working on bringing next to the field.
The merchant tools provide a seamless experience for merchant websites to accept payments with MAG. It is built on a larger secure back-end that will also support our web wallet services later on. We will be entering a broader testing phase next week (right after the fork and provided support efforts do not consume too much of our time). If you are a merchant interested in integrating the solution, please feel free to contact us now.
Technically, invoicing was quite a challenging task to implement as our base protocol does not offer any meta fields to identify transactions (this will change with smart contracts). In the meantime, we had to come up with a sophisticated fee-based mechanism to identify and detect transactions across the merchant network.
We also put emphasis on security and are investing the required effort and resources to provide a solid and scalable backbone on which we can build and expand these services.
Masternode Manager App for Android
We consider masternodes as first class assets on MAG Network.
This is why we have decided to create a complete suit of tools that allow investors to manage their investment in real time. We are still in the process of iterating the design. We are going to open a closed beta on Google Play in the coming days and if all goes well we will be opening the public beta shortly after.
That will be it for now. We are aiming to come up with progress on the heavy artillery and background development regularly.
Exit the naysayers, we are committed to support MAG users to the best of our abilities developing the infrastructure and solutions needed to grow the value of the network.
